There have been a lot of mixed reviews about this palette, which made me think twice before I parted with my money and purchased this palette for myself. I have to say that I am glad I decided to pick up the Subculture Eyeshadow Palette.
The palette itself contains fourteen beautiful pigmented eyeshadows which are a mix of matte, duo chrome and metallic shades. They are extremely pigmented and easy to blend to create many different looks. According to Anastasia Beverly Hills, the Duo chrome shades can be paired with a setting spray and applied with a synthetic brush for a more intense look and for a more natural look they can be applied dry by using a natural hair brush. To apply the metallic shades the brand recommend using a setting spray and applying the eyeshadow with a flat synethic brush. To apply the matte shades you should use a dense brush to apply the eyeshadow and a fluffy blending brush to blend the edges.
Over all I adored this palette. I have not found a palette yet that has so many highly pigmented matte shades before. This was a pleasant surprise and to my delight I found them easy to blend and work with to create beautiful looks. But I found that you cannot be too heavy handed with this palette as you will end up making a mess of your eye makeup! I also found that you need to prime the eyelid with a matte primer not a cream. If you use a concealer (like I did!) make sure to let it dry and then set it with a powder before applying eyeshadows. I would recommend either pat or pack the eyeshadow on to increase the intensity over blended eyeshadow.
I personally loved the Subculture Palette and that is where many of you may agree to differ. I know that not everyone will love this palette, as there have been so many mixed reviews but that is the beauty of the makeup world! Everyone has a different opinion.
Have you guys tried this palette? What did you think of it?
