Who doesn’t love bath bombs? But sometimes they can be just a little on the expensive side. So, why not try making your own?
240ml baking soda
60ml Epsom salts
120ml citric acid
1 tsp. water
3oz shea butter
Essential oil (6-10 drops)
3 tsp. coconut oil
Dried herbs or petals
Mix the dried ingredients together in a bowl with a whisk. Add the liquid ingredients. Pour the coconut oil, shea butter and almond oil into the mixture. Combine all ingredients till it resembles a-dough like texture.
You can mix in whatever essential oil you prefer. If you like mix two or more different scents but be careful not to add to many otherwise it can be a little over powering!
To make these bath bombs you don’t need any food colouring, just add in rose petals at the end. But feel free to put your own twist on them by adding in red food colour to half the mixture or how about adding some gold glitter for extra sparkle?
Set the mixture in molds. Don’t worry if you don’t have the proper bath bomb molds, you can use silicone molds or other molds used for baking (as long as you don’t use them for food after!)
Allow the bombs to dry over night in a cool dry place. Once they are fully dry, remove them from the molds and pop them in an air-tight container until your next bath.
